The Last Supper

One more dinner to honor the retiree. I'm calling it the last supper. Kind words spoken. A few photos projected larger than life on the screen, edited and captioned by me. Cute photos--mostly of younger days. Who wants to see photos of an old retiree?

The end is near for one of us. In just a few days there will be only an office to clean out ... 25 years of accumulation!

My life will not change so much for awhile. Same old same old here. Summer golf for one of us and summer gardening for the other. The same old book club cottage/golf outing up north. The same old July birthday bash (5th annual?) in Grand Haven.

Lots of wasting of one particular natural resource: lake water.

Lots of using energy to run the air-conditioning day and night.

Water, air and food ... all basic and important to my simple summer life!

Looking forward to a steak dinner downtown with friends Saturday--a dinner at which we can enjoy wine or cocktails and a menu entree of our choice. Let the celebrating begin for real! Enough already of all the fete-ing.
